Throughout the weekend, we will learn, sing, and be inspired by the tunes and stories of the Abayudaya Community and greater Jewish Communities in Africa as well as Samson’s personal stories. We will explore the history, traditions, and customs, and hear niggunim. Prepare to be enlightened and uplifted. Friday, April 12 5:45 p.m.: Candle lighting 6:00 p.m.: Congregational Shabbat dinner (pre-registration and fee required) Roasted chicken or stuffed pepper entree options. 7:00 p.m.: Shabbat Services during which Samson Nderitu Njogu will treat us to melodies, using a djembe drum, and share traditions of Shabbat and holidays of the Abayudaya community. 8:00 p.m.: Following services, join us for an Oneg where Samson will speak about his will speak about his journey.
