Getting Good at Getting Older
by Rabbi Laura Geller
Tuesday, February 13 at 7:45 p.m., in person

Our next author talk is going to be awesome! This book is a compendium of advice and resources for the next stage of life. Rabbi Geller writes in the foreword, “This is a book about life, meant to empower, delight, challenge and whet our appetite for whatever comes next.”

This book provides answers to guide you through possible scenarios. For example : How do we get rid of all of our stuff? How can rituals help with life transitions (such as moving)? How do we move on after loss? What conversations might you have with your family about delicate matters? What would you like your legacy to be and how can you make that happen? How can Jewish tradition help us to age well? These and many more topics are covered in a warm, practical style with intermittent doses of humor throughout.

Rabbi Geller was named by Newsweek as one of the 50 most influential rabbis in America.  She began her career as a Hillel Director, and continued as a regional Executive Director of the American Jewish Congress. In 1992 she was named Senior Rabbi of Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills and is now Rabbi Emerita.  She co-wrote this book with her husband, who sadly died of cancer before the publication of the book in 2019.  Rabbi Geller currently lives in Los Angeles.
